The Food Bank has given us a unique outreach opportunity to provide food for food insecure children during the summer.  We are looking for individuals who would like to host them at the church.  You will set up tables and chairs and sit and interact with the child and their families while they eat.  

Right now, the commitment is for 2 hours on Wednesday (10:30am-12:30pm).  However, there is the potential to serve breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday, depending on the number of volunteers we get.

Imagine leaving school on Friday afternoon and not having anything to eat until Monday morning. This is a reality for some of the children in our schools. We would like to provide food every weekend to children who are identified as ‘food insecure’ by teachers and guidance counselors at our local schools. The bags contain kid-friendly food for six weekend meals, and snacks.  You can DONATE to help purchase items (choose "BackPack Buddies" in the dropdown) or you can grab a card off the wall at church and return the item to the bin on any Sunday.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Amanda Hohl at powdie@hotmail.com.
